Legacy of Violence

This book examines the British Empire's extensive use of violence throughout the twentieth century. Drawing on over a decade of research across four continents, it highlights how Britain employed systematic and racialised violence to protect its interests globally. The author reveals how, when faced with losing control over these violent practices, Britain retreated and attempted to erase the evidence. This study challenges longstanding myths about the Empire and presents a critical perspective on its legacy.
